The Mayor of Southwark’s Common Good Trust

Logo / tri-fold brochure / posters / stationery

The Mayor of Southwark’s Common Good Trust were using a very complex and low resolution coat of arms on their marketing collateral. I took the cinquefoil icon and colour palette from small details on the original shield, offering a clean and modern identity but also a continuity with the organisation’s past. The cinquefoil is traditionally thought to symbolise ‘hope’ and ‘joy’ and here suggests outreach and unity. I used the icon throughout the marketing pieces to serve as bullet-points and to divide text. For the brochure and poster series, I developed a set of illustrations of Southwark landmarks and apartment blocks in order to convey a proud heritage but also a landscape with the residents at its heart.
